Benefits of Propane Pool Heaters

A simple way to heat your pool

Having your own pool in your yard can be tons of fun and can create memories that you will have forever. However, there are all sorts of responsibilities that come along with owning a pool. One major factor is safety. Then of course there is the cleaning and maintenance. And don’t forget that you have to decide what you are going to heat your pool with. Sometimes that involves a propane pool heater.

Ways to heat a pool

There are a few different options when it comes to pool heaters:

  1. Electric heat pump heaters: These heaters use surrounding air to warm a pool’s water. Therefore, they are only able to make a pool’s water slightly warmer than whatever the temperature of the air is. However, they are usually more cost-effective than a more basic electric element pool heater.
  2. Solar pool heaters: These heaters use the sun (specifically thermal energy from the sun) to heat a pool. But if the sun is not out and shining, they don’t really work. If it is only partially sunny your pool will take a long time to heat, certainly longer than it would take if you were to use a propane pool heater.
  3. Propane pool heaters: These heaters start by burning gas to warm water in a pool pump. Then they essentially dump that warmed water into to a pool. They are a great and simple way to heat both in-ground and aboveground pools and spas.
